Hyundai received the top award in three categories of the prestigious Russian Car of the Year 2014 competition: Two product awards in the Small Car and Compact SUV segments respectively, and the accolade for the “The Most Loved Brand” among mainstream car makers.
For the past 14 years, the Russian Car of the Year prizes were annually awarded to the top-rated cars. This year, more than a million customers participated in voting to select the best cars among 403 models as winners in the Russian Car of the Year competition.
This year the Hyundai Solaris, as the Hyundai Accent
is known in Russia, was named Car of the Year in its category for the third consecutive year. More than 110 000 Solaris units were sold last year in Russia. Thanks to its modern design, high level of comfort, excellent driving performance and localized features for Russia, the Solaris managed to reaffirm its title of the most loved car.
The title won by Hyundai ix35
is a distinct evidence of its success in Russia. Introduced in October 2013 in Russia, the ix35 has received numerous technological improvements while saving its sporty character and great power. This is the second time that the ix35 has won a Car of the Year award in Russia in the Compact SUV segment – its first win was in 2011.
The award of ‘The Most Loved Brand’ is a special and important achievement for Hyundai Motor CIS in Russia. "We have always aimed to become the most loved car brand in Russia. For us, it is a great achievement and confirmation that customers approve of our mission to meet new challenges," said Yong-Key Koo, general director of Hyundai Motor CIS.
