ROCK AND RUN AND RUN AND ROCK Published - 09/12/2014

You wonder, sometimes, how people will put their bodies through the hellfire and torture that is otherwise known as running further than the corner store (for milk, at eleven in the evening - everyone knows that drill).

And then you realise that actually it’s not half as bad as dodging the streetwise two on the way to the shop, because bands!
That’s what Rock the Run is all about, and Hyundai South Africa has announced that it will be extending its sponsorship of the hugely successful event for a further two years.
The first Hyundai Rock the Run was officially introduced earlier this year with over 6 000 participants taking to the Sandton streets.
The second event returns to Mushroom Farm Park on Sunday, 1st March 2015, where live music experiences will once again be woven into this unique road running race, culminating in a massive after-party concert, featuring some of SA’s biggest musicians and bands.
Already on the line up are South African heavyweights Mango Groove, along with some of the country’s up and coming stars like Mi Casa and Matthew Mole.
“We are extremely happy to be extending our association with this unique race. It is an integrated sports and lifestyle event that appeals to the whole family – incorporating music and healthy activity into one action-packed fun filled day.  We are very proud to be involved with bringing this caliber of event to the people of Gauteng,” commented Hyundai SA Marketing Manager, François Marais.
Rock the Run will not only provide families and athletes with a day of entertainment, but will once again support great initiatives such as The Sports Trust, by donating a percentage of proceeds from every single entry towards this worthy cause.
Entries for the race have already opened, and will close on the 20 February 2015 and, if you’re lucky, yours might be one of the limited entries accepted on the 27 and 28 February 2015, otherwise known as Race Registration day.
